Tani received her MBA in Marketing from Harvard Business School and her BA cum laude in Economics from Middlebury College in Vermont.
Since graduating from Harvard, Tani has held positions of increasing responsibility in marketing, strategy and Product Management for over 25 years. As a Media Buyer/Planner, Product Manager, Independent Consultant, Vice President of Marketing and Head of Account Services for an advertising agency, she has contributed to the success of products and services from tractors and dog food, to burritos and chicken patties, from agricultural chemicals and emergency lighting, to eCommerce services and fast-food production equipment.
Tani has had a lifelong interest in education. Her second-year marketing project at Harvard Business School explored approaches to increasing enrollment of women in the MBA program. She has also had nearly twenty years of classroom experience teaching marketing, advertising, strategy, new products, economics, math and remedial English at the graduate and undergraduate levels. For the last six years she has taught GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT, ACT and TOEFL as both classroom teacher and tutor for Kaplan Test Prep.
Tani has helped hundreds of applicants gain admission to the graduate business and law programs of their choice. Through Kaplan Admissions Consulting she has worked with talented young women and men from around the world advising them on school choice, recommendations, interviews, and financial aid, as well as helping them to craft clear and persuasive essays. Tani was Kaplan Admissions Consultant of the Year for Business School Admissions in 2008.
Tani successfully guided her two daughters through the college admissions process. Her oldest daughter is General Manager of a chain of retail medical supply stores and her youngest daughter just completed a Masters in City Planning at MIT.
