Grammar and punctuation got you stumped? Grammar books boring and/or intimidating? Here are some fun alternatives.

Eats, Shoots and Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation – by Lynne Truss

Eats, Shoots and Leaves is a fun, accurate and interesting book  that teaches punctuation by showing the hilarious mistakes that occur when punctuation is wrong. You can check it out on WikiPedia.

The Transitive Vampire – by Karen Elizabeth Gordon

Gordon uses “gargoyles, mastodons, murderous debutantes, and,  vampires” to teach the basics of English grammar. Another light-hearted approach that avoids textbook boredom.  Check it out (and several other offbeat grammar books) on www.library thing.com.
